  • 3 clusters Staghorn, smooth or winged sumac berries
  • 1 litre Water
  • Sweetener to taste


To make sumac-ade, pick about 3 red clusters of sumac berries. Then rub, crunch and squeeze them in about a litre of cold water for five to 10 minutes to release the flavour. Then use a fine strainer or cheesecloth to strain the liquid. Add some sweetener to the liquid and enjoy!
